This review summarises outcomes of three studies that evaluated data obtained from a large US healthcare database to determine the impact of remdesivir treatment of hospitalised patients with COVID-19 in the late Omicron era. The outcomes from these studies demonstrated that treatment of this patient group was associated with a significant reduction in mortality and 30-day readmission risks, especially in the most vulnerable group of patients, namely the elderly and those with immunocompromising conditions. These benefits are of a similar magnitude to those seen during the height of the pandemic.
